Corpus Christi is a warm, spiritually involved, Roman Catholic Parish with a strong sense of community, as inspired by the second Vatican council. In 1798, Father Tisserant became the first Catholic Priest to serve in Wethersfield. He was a refugee from the French Revolution who lived with the Bellasis family in Wethersfield serving as a tutor ….. The first active parish in Wethersfield came in 1877 when the Sacred Heart of Jesus was established as a mission church of St. Mary’s in East Hartford. Corpus Christi Church was established as an independent parish on the Silas Deane Highway in September of 1941. To find out more interesting information click on the church history tab.
